4) Gatton Stars Workshop
The Gatton Stars quilt is a medallion quilt consisting of a central original block surrounded by a border of Flying Geese and then a border of Le Moyne Stars.
A second Flying Geese border is then featured and the quilt is completed with a border of Blazing Star blocks. This beautiful quilt shows the amazing effects that can be achieved by fussy cutting.
It was inspired by a teaching challenge to demonstrate and teach students different piecing techniques . It is hand and machine pieced using templates and the Flying Geese borders are foundation pieced for accuracy. Finished quilt size - 72" x 72"
